League of Bangsamoro Organizations Launches “Peso for Food in Gaza” Fund Drive Amid Rising Casualties

The League of Bangsamoro Organizations (LBO) has initiated the “Piso for Food in Gaza” campaign to provide essential food and medical aid to those affected by the ongoing conflict in Gaza. This effort is particularly urgent as recent reports indicate a significant increase in casualties.

According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, as reported by Al Jazeera, over 50,000 Palestinians have been killed since the conflict began on October 7, 2023. The ongoing violence has left countless others injured, with many suffering from the lack of access to essential medical care. On the Israeli side, approximately 1,200 individuals have lost their lives since the war started.

In response to the escalating crisis, the LBO is calling on individuals and peace stakeholders to contribute to the fund drive. Even modest donations can make a significant impact in providing life-saving food and medical supplies. "Through 'Peso for Food in Gaza,' we aim to provide immediate relief to those suffering from hunger and lack of medical care," said an LBO representative. "This campaign embodies our collective responsibility and compassion."

Donations can be made through designated collection points and secure digital platforms (look for LBO page in Facebook). The LBO assures transparency, with all funds directed to trusted humanitarian partners operating on the ground in Gaza.

Organizers said the initiative is not only about providing aid but also about expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza. Religious and community leaders have highlighted that assisting those in need during such crises is both a moral and spiritual imperative.
LBO said by supporting the “Piso for Food in Gaza” campaign, donors are joining a global effort to alleviate suffering and uphold human dignity in the face of ongoing adversity.
