The Ministry of Trade, Investments, and Tourism (MTIT) led a high-level Convergence Meeting on Innovation held at Alnor Hotel and Convention Center on April 10, 2025, as part of its continuing effort to promote inclusive and innovation-driven economic development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
In a post on its official Facebook page, MTIT highlighted the significance of the event in fostering collaboration among various government bodies and stakeholders to align innovation initiatives and accelerate the region's digital transformation.
MTIT Minister Abuamri A. Taddik opened the meeting with a message reaffirming the ministry’s commitment to pushing for innovation through partnerships and integrated strategies. He emphasized that strengthening innovation ecosystems is key to achieving long-term economic growth in BARMM.

Present in the meeting were members of the Bangsamoro Parliament, Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo and Atty. Suharto Ambolodto who delivered their messages of support.

They underscored the importance of digital technology in addressing economic disparities and urged government agencies to integrate innovation into public service delivery.

The meeting gathered representatives from various BARMM ministries and agencies including DICT Region XII, BICTO, MOST, MILG, BPDA, UNDP, and Cotabato State University.

Discussions centered on aligning Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs) and building strong partnerships to establish the Regional Inclusive Innovation Center (RIIC) in BARMM.

The initiative is anticipated to be formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding, marking a significant step toward enhancing digital governance and ensuring sustainable economic development in the region.
