Bangsamoro Chief Minister Abdulraof “Sammy Gambar” A. Macacua has extended his congratulations to the winners of the 2025 local elections across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), urging all leaders—both elected and not—to work together in building a just and inclusive future for the region.

In an official statement issued following the conclusion of the polls, Chief Minister Macacua described the election results as not only a personal triumph for individual candidates but also a reflection of the people's trust and aspirations. He called on newly elected officials to approach their positions with humility and a deep sense of responsibility.

“This mandate is not merely a position—it is a solemn duty to uphold the values of integrity, transparency, and inclusive governance,” Macacua said. “Let your leadership be defined not by power, but by service.”

Macacua also expressed respect and appreciation for those who did not win, describing their involvement as a courageous act of public service. He emphasized that the region continues to need their engagement and voices in shaping its development.

The Chief Minister underscored the importance of unity in the post-election period, highlighting that the strength of the Bangsamoro lies not in political division but in the collective pursuit of peace, justice, and sustainable development.

“This election season has reminded us that our strength lies not in division, but in our collective pursuit of peace, justice, and development,” he said.

The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) was established in 2019 through the ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law, replacing the former ARMM as part of a peace agreement between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

Macacua, a senior MILF leader and long-time peace advocate, was formally appointed in 2025 President Ferdinand Marcos Jr as the Bangsamoro Chief Minister.
