LBO Represents Bangsamoro in Asia-Pacific Conference for Palestine in Indonesia

The League of Bangsamoro Organizations (LBO) participated in the Asia-Pacific Palestine Activists Conference for Al-Quds and Palestine held on May 25, 2025, in Bandung, Indonesia.
According to a post on LBO’s official Facebook page, the event gathered delegates from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Maldives, and the Philippines to mark the 70th anniversary of the historic Asian-African Conference. Organized by the Global Women’s Coalition for Al-Aqsa and Palestine – Asia-Pacific, the conference aimed to strengthen regional solidarity with Palestine through humanitarian aid, advocacy, and media initiatives.

LBO Deputy President Emran G. Mohamad led the delegation, which joined discussions on strengthening humanitarian efforts, advocacy work, and media initiatives in support of Palestine.

The organization’s participation builds on its ongoing international engagement. In April 2025, LBO also sent a five-member delegation of women leaders to the 14th Pioneers Conference in Istanbul, Türkiye, representing member groups such as the Ittihadun Nisa' Foundation (INFo) and the Mindanao Women Advocacy for Good Governance (MWAGG).

LBO is a coalition of more than 600 civil society organizations that actively support peacebuilding, inclusive governance, and the full implementation of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB). It is officially accredited by the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC).

Chief Minister Abdulraof A. Macacua expressed support for the LBO delegation, stating that the Bangsamoro people, shaped by their own experience with conflict and reconciliation, offer valuable perspectives in international peace efforts.

Financial support for the LBO delegation was provided by Member of Parliament Abdulbasit R. Benito and Cotabato City Mayor Mohammad Ali “Bruce” Matabalao. MILF Chairman Al-Haj Murad Ebrahim also backed the initiative and expressed openness to hosting similar international events in the Bangsamoro region in the future.

LBO thanked its supporters and international partners for the opportunity to contribute to the global call for justice and solidarity with the Palestinian people.
