MILF Chair: Eid al-Adha a Time to Remember Sacrifices for Faith and Bangsamoro Struggle

In a statement released in time for the Eid al-Adha celebration, Murad emphasized the religious and historical significance of the occasion, recalling the example of the Prophet Abraham.
“Ang Eidul Adha ay paalaala sa ganap na pagsunod at pananampalataya sa kalooban ng Allah,” he said.
("Eid al-Adha is a reminder of complete obedience and faith in the will of Allah.")
He cited Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son as an ultimate act of devotion to the Almighty.
Murad called on the Bangsamoro people to reflect not only on religious traditions but also on the sacrifices of the Bangsamoro mujaheedin who dedicated and gave their lives in pursuit of justice and self-determination.
“Sa ating paggunita ng Eid, nawa’y ating alalahanin ang sakripisyo ng ating mga mujaheedin, lalo na ang mga nag-alay ng kanilang buhay para sa pananampalataya, katarungan at karapatang magpasya para sa sariling kapalaran ng Bangsamoro,” he said.
("In our observance of Eid, may we also reflect and recall the sacrifices of our mujaheedin, especially those who gave their lives for their faith, justice, and the right to self-determination of the Bangsamoro.")
The MILF leader also offered a prayer for unity among the Bangsamoro and expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine.
“Ya Allah, panatilihin mong matatag ang pagkakaisa ng Bangsamoro. Patatagin mo ang pagtitiwala namin sa isa’t isa upang sama-sama naming maisulong ang kapayapaan, kaunlaran at katarungan sa Bangsamoro,” he said.
("O Allah, keep the unity of the Bangsamoro strong. Strengthen our trust in one another so that together we may advance peace, development, and justice in Bangsamoro.")
“Ya Allah, huwag Ninyong kalimutan ang aming mga kapatid sa Palestine. Bigyan Mo sila ng ginhawa sa gitna ng pagsubok. Ipagkaloob Mo ang hustisya sa kanilang bayan at nawa’y maghari ang tunay na kapayapaan sa kanilang lupain,” he added.
("O Allah, do not forget our brothers and sisters in Palestine. Grant them relief amid their trials. Bestow justice upon their nation, and may true peace reign in their land.")
Murad concluded the message with greetings from the MILF:
“Mula sa MILF, isang masaya, mapayapa at makahulugang Eid al-Adha Al-Mubarak.”
("From the MILF, a joyful, peaceful, and meaningful Eid al-Adha Al-Mubarak.")
