Israel Launches Deadly Airstrikes on Tehran, Dozens Killed

TEHRAN – At least 78 civilians were killed and 329 others injured following a series of Israeli airstrikes that struck multiple areas across Tehran on June 13, 2025.

According to a report by Tehran Times, residential areas in the western, eastern, and northern parts of the Iranian capital were heavily damaged, alongside key infrastructure and military installations.

The Tehran Times reported that the Israeli assault also targeted nuclear facilities and strategic bases located in provinces such as East Azerbaijan, Esfahan, and Kermanshah. Videos and photographs released in the report showed widespread destruction, with rescue teams working to retrieve survivors from under collapsed buildings and debris.

Emergency responders and humanitarian teams were immediately deployed to assist in the affected areas, focusing on rescue and relief operations. As of press time, Iranian authorities are still assessing the full scale of the damage and casualties, with fears that the number of victims may rise as search efforts continue.

In response, Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei condemned the attacks as “a blatant act of aggression” and vowed a decisive retaliation. In a statement quoted by Tehran Times, he said the assault will “not go unanswered” and warned that Israel would face “strategic consequences” for its actions. The newspaper emphasized that the strikes mark a dangerous escalation that could draw the region closer to full-scale conflict.
