MILF Chairman attends OIC Foreign Ministers Session in Istanbul, calls for revitalized peace process

Cotabato City -- Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Chairman Al Haj Murad Ebrahim participated in the 51st session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers, held in Istanbul, Türkiye, from June 21-22, 2025. 
Ebrahim attended the high-level gathering upon an official invitation from OIC Secretary-General, H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha.
The session, themed “The OIC in a Transforming World,” underscored the critical role of the OIC in addressing recent global developments impacting geopolitical stability and the security of the Muslim Ummah worldwide.

Prior to the official opening, Ebrahim was received by Republic of Türkiye Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan. During their meeting, Chairman Ebrahim provided updates on the current state of the peace process in Mindanao and expressed gratitude to the Turkish government and its people for their continued support for dialogue aimed at achieving genuine peace and development in the Bangsamoro region.

Throughout networking breaks, Chairman Ebrahim engaged with representatives and dignitaries from various OIC member-states, including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Kuwait, Indonesia, Malaysia, Uganda, and Bangladesh, introducing them to the liberation front movement.

In his engagements, Ebrahim emphasized the ongoing assertion for the Bangsamoro struggle and the right to self-determination, seeking to revitalize international participation in the Bangsamoro peace process.

Ebrahim was accompanied by a MILF delegation that included Ustadz Mohammad S. Yacob, a member of the MILF Central Committee; Atty. Sha Elijah B. Dumama-Alba, a member of the MILF Central Committee Secretariat; and Hamsur Mama.

The MILF reiterated its strong commitment to the faithful and timely implementation of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro, expressing hope that it will serve as a shining example of unity and success achieved through peace processes.
