Gensan, Sarangani ALIVE Teachers Undergo Two-Year Arabic Language Enhancement Program

GENERAL SANTOS CITY — ALIVE (Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education) teachers from General Santos City and Sarangani have officially embarked on a two-year Arabic Language Enhancement Program (ALEP), beginning with an orientation held on Sunday, July 6, 2025. The schooling will be conducted at Kulliyat Sugoda Buayan Lidarasatil Islamiyah in Purok 7, Barangay Ligaya, this city.
The orientation marked the formal start of the program for both regular and contract of service Asatidz, aiming to strengthen their Arabic language proficiency and improve their teaching effectiveness.

ALEP is part of the Department of Education’s Madrasah Education Program (MEP), guided by DepEd Order No. 51, s. 2004, which supports the enhanced delivery of Arabic and Islamic Values Education in public schools.

The orientation introduced participants to the program’s goals, curriculum framework, and expectations. The institution is known for its expertise in Arabic and Islamic education, led by Ulama who are graduates of reputable Islamic universities in the Philippines and the Middle East.

Dean Sheikh Mohammad Raffy Ali Saeipada, in his message, emphasized that the training will focus on foundational Arabic language (Lugha), equipping ALIVE teachers with the skills needed to teach the language more effectively in their classrooms. Formal classes are set to commence on July 13, 2025.

The orientation was facilitated by Dr. Regan B. Dagadas, Regional MEP Coordinator, with support from Dr. Hanena L. Epino, Division MEP Coordinator for General Santos City.

The faculty of Kulliyat Sugoda Buayan were also introduced to the ALIVE teachers.
