MILF leadership, allied Parliament members endorse priority policy directions for BTA

Camp Darapanan, Maguindanao del Norte — The leadership of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), together with nominated and allied members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament, held a consultation meeting on Saturday, July 19, 2025, to discuss the priority policy directions of the MILF-United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) within the BTA.
The meeting aimed to strengthen unity and channel the proposed initiatives of MILF and UBJP through a consultative process.

MILF Chairman and UBJP President Al Haj Murad Ebrahim personally led the gathering, accompanied by several senior members of the MILF Central Committee.

In his message to the attending parliament members, Ebrahim emphasized the importance of consultation and the practice of collective leadership, which are core principles of MILF and UBJP in decision-making.

"Every step of ours in the MILF must pass through consultation so that our discussions on decisions and arrangements bear fruit for the welfare and betterment of our Bangsamoro People. Especially in legislation, it is necessary that our hearts remember that each action is part of our continued struggle,” said Ebrahim in his direction-setting speech.

The meeting also tackled preparations for the first-ever BARMM Parliamentary Elections scheduled for October 2025.

The UBJP and MILF advocate for deeper participation of their members in the transitional process toward an inclusive, strong, and just Bangsamoro government.
