Bangsamoro People Urged to Reaffirm Commitment to Unity

In his post at Facebook page, Salik cautioned that “divide and rule” tactics benefit those who wish to keep the Bangsamoro weak and fragmented. He urged leaders and communities to safeguard their homeland from manipulative forces and ensure that the future of the region remains in the hands of its people.
His statement came after the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Central Committee reaffirmed its loyalty to Chairman Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim on August 21, 2025. The show of support underscored Murad’s authority and legitimacy but also highlighted the absence of Interim Chief Minister and BIAF Chief of Staff Abdulraof “Sammy Gambar” Macacua, raising concerns of a possible rift in leadership.
He said, “The path to genuine self-rule may be challenging, but with steadfast solidarity and unwavering resolve, the Bangsamoro community can overcome any barriers.”
Salik stressed that unity, transparency, and inclusive decision-making must be strengthened to counter divisive tactics. He added that only through solidarity can the Bangsamoro people safeguard the gains of their struggle and ensure a peaceful, autonomous, and prosperous future.
