The labor center issued the appeal in a statement posted on its official Facebook page on August 22, 2025, following the August 19 assurance of Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity, Secretary Carlito G. Galvez, Jr., that the government remains “fully committed” to the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB). Despite this assurance, concerns have risen after reports of political interference linked to the Marcos Jr. administration, which prompted the MILF to order its commanders to suspend participation in unilateral normalization activities without proper authorization.

SENTRO warned that such developments threaten to derail the hard-won gains of the peace process and erode the trust built between the parties. It emphasized that undermining the CAB is a “dangerous game” that risks undoing years of progress toward stability in the region.

The group stressed that convening the peace implementation panels at the soonest possible time is essential to prevent further escalation. “Peace cannot rest on lip service—it must be defended through concrete action,” SENTRO said in its statement.
