The Office of Member of Parliament (MP) Hussein P. Muñoz announced on his official Facebook page that public consultations on the proposed Bangsamoro Aid Bill were successfully conducted in two municipalities in Lanao del Norte, specifically in Momungan, Pacalundo, in Balo-i, and at the Camp Bilal General Headquarters in Munai.

The proposed measure, formally titled the Bangsamoro Assistance for Inclusive Development Act of 2025, seeks to institutionalize BARMM’s support for Bangsamoro populations living beyond its geographic boundaries, a mandate recognized under the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL). By gathering insights and feedback from affected communities, MP Muñoz’s office hopes to make the bill more responsive to their realities before its formal filing in Parliament.

Stakeholders who joined the consultations included representatives of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF), the Bangsamoro Islamic Women Auxiliary Brigade (BIWAB), political and social welfare committees, religious leaders from Dawah, Tarbiyyah, and Hayatul Ulama, and information officers. Their perspectives are expected to play a vital role in refining the proposed legislation.

The activity was organized with the support of fellow MPs Said Shiek and Abdullah Macapaar, both of whom also represent communities outside BARMM. Muñoz’s office has previously carried out similar engagements in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Davao Region, and Southern Mindanao, along with executive meetings in Parliament to build consensus for the measure.

With the consultations wrapping up, the Bangsamoro Aid Bill is expected to be filed in the coming days with the Office of the Secretary General, which will assign its official bill number. MP Muñoz expressed optimism that the inclusive process behind the measure will help secure support once it reaches the floor of the Bangsamoro Parliament.
