MBHTE appoints hundreds of personnel in Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, Maguindanao del Sur

Cotabato City – The Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) formally appointed 694 new teaching and non-teaching personnel from the Schools Division Offices (SDOs) of Basilan, Lamitan City, Tawi-Tawi, and Maguindanao del Sur during a mass signing of appointments and oath-taking ceremony on August 27.
The event, which took place at the Cotabato State University Gymnasium, was led by MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal and attended by other ministry officials and personnel. Appointees from the Tawi-Tawi SDO who could not attend in person participated in the ceremony virtually.

Deputy Minister Haron Meling, in his welcome address, emphasized the significant responsibilities that come with their new role.

"I challenge you to live up to the expectations of the MBHTE and to continue your passion to uplift the lives of the Bangsamoro youth," Meling said.

Iqbal underscored the critical role of educators in ensuring quality education in the region.

"One of the most important factors in delivering quality education is the competence of our teachers. No matter how adequate our classrooms and textbooks may be, if a teacher does not teach effectively and wholeheartedly, our learners will not be able to reach their full potential," Iqbal stated.

He also emphasized that the true measure of education lies in the ability of teachers to inspire, guide, and impart knowledge.

In addition to the newly hired personnel, 40 promoted individuals within the MBHTE also took their oath during the ceremony.

The Ministry conveyed its confidence in the new appointees and expressed anticipation for their contributions to the future of Bangsamoro youth, marking a significant investment in the region's education sector.
