OBMUSC clarifies it did not deduct funds from beneficiary’s financial aid

COTABATO CITY – The Office of the Bangsamoro Mujahideen Under Special Circumstance (OBMUSC) has clarified that it did not deduct any amount from financial assistance provided to beneficiaries in the city, following reports of missing funds.

In a statement, OBMUSC confirmed that it distributed financial aid to qualified beneficiaries in Cotabato City from March 2 to 5, 2026, with distributions still ongoing in other areas across the region.

The issue surfaced after information spread claiming that the office was deducting portions of the financial assistance given to recipients. The agency immediately launched an investigation into the matter.

Based on the investigation results, one beneficiary was found to have had PHP 31,500 taken from their assistance. However, OBMUSC emphasized that the deduction did not come from their office or its authorized personnel.

Authorities have already identified both the affected beneficiary and the individual responsible for the incident. The office is currently reviewing appropriate legal actions to address the case.

OBMUSC is urging all beneficiaries to immediately report any instances of forced deductions or unauthorized withholding of financial assistance. Concerned individuals may contact Grievance Officer Binwalyd K. Lumenda at 0909-323-3707 for assistance.
