UBJP President Ebrahim leads free Iftar distribution across Bangsamoro

COTABATO CITY — The United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP), under the leadership of President Al?Haj Murad Ebrahim, has launched a coordinated free iftar distribution and food assistance campaign across the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

Through its “Ramadan Mobile Free Market” initiative, the party reached several municipalities in early to mid-March 2026 – aligning with the final weeks of fasting when community support is most critical. Social media posts from UBJP supporters and local community pages documented the outreach efforts across the region.

As part of UBJP’s annual 'Salaam Ramadan' program, the initiative provided vital groceries and evening meals to families observing the fast.

Communities that benefited include:

- Brgy. Kurintem, where over 150 residents received food packs for iftar and essential groceries;
?
- Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte, where the mobile free market delivered supplies directly to barangays; and
?
- Barangay Talitay, Buluan, Maguindanao del Sur, where nearly 200 Muslim families received free food items and iftar packs.

Volunteers and party aides worked closely with barangay officials and local leaders to organize distributions and ensure fairness for all recipients.

Posts on the UBJP Facebook page and related community groups emphasized that the initiative demonstrates the party’s commitment to serving grassroots communities during significant cultural and religious occasions.

The program not only eased daily burdens on fasting families but also strengthened bonds within communities throughout Ramadan.

Ebrahim, who also serves as chairman of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), has long championed welfare-focused community programs tied to religious observance. His leadership underscores UBJP’s role extending beyond electoral politics, particularly during events that unite Muslim populations in BARMM.

Across neighboring provinces, similar humanitarian efforts – including free iftar meal drives and food distributions – have been reported, reflecting the spirit of generosity and community care that defines Ramadan in the region.
