Marcos hosts Malacañang Iftar, reaffirms commitment to Bangsamoro peace process

In his remarks during the breaking of fast, the President emphasized that the government remains fully dedicated to advancing peace and building a people-centered governance system in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
“As previously and numerously mentioned before, this administration remains fully supportive of creating a people-centered governance system in the Bangsamoro region,” Marcos said. “Our work is not yet done. We remain steadfast that we will ensure the promise of peace translates into real opportunities for the Bangsamoro people and for all Filipinos.”
The event was attended by BARMM officials led by Interim Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua, Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) Secretary Carlito Galvez, other senior national government officials, and members of the Diplomatic Corps.
In his response, Chief Minister Macacua thanked the President for his continued support, highlighting the strong partnership between the national government and BARMM. He stressed the importance of building trust among leaders to strengthen and develop the Bangsamoro region.
Macacua also commended Marcos for hosting the Ramadan grand iftar, noting that the gathering brought together diverse leaders and partners working toward lasting peace and sustainable development in BARMM.
