Murad attends Jeddah Qur’an Competition, stresses faith as foundation for Bangsamoro

COTABATO CITY — Al Haj Murad Ebrahim, chairman of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front Central Committee (MILF-CC) and president of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party, attended the 39th Annual National Qur’an Reading Competition on March 21, 2026, in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The event was held under the theme “The Noble Qur’an: Light and Guidance for All Humanity.”
Organizers said the gathering aimed to highlight the Bangsamoro people’s continued commitment to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an while promoting spiritual growth, moral guidance, and unity across generations.
In his speech, Murad emphasized that the Qur’an remains the foundation of faith, discipline, and ethical leadership among the Bangsamoro, adding that it continues to guide the community in its collective efforts toward progress.
He also underscored key elements for strengthening the organization and the region, including unity and adherence to shared principles, trust and discipline, and a strong focus on knowledge, good character, and community service.
Murad noted that the annual competition goes beyond showcasing excellence in Qur’anic recitation – it reaffirms the central role of the Qur’an in shaping the values and direction of the Bangsamoro people.
He added that faith-based leadership and sustained moral guidance are essential in building a stronger, more prosperous Bangsamoro Homeland.
