UBJP debunks ‘misleading’ social media post, denies claims of leadership removal

Dr. Zul Qarneeyn Abas, UBJP chief executive officer for Cotabato City, confirmed that the gathering was led by Al Haj Murad Ebrahim and fully documented in official minutes, which are available for review at the UBJP Secretariat. The meeting was attended by leaders from all levels of the organization, with authorized delegates representing those unable to be present in person.
Abas emphasized that all decisions reached during the session were made through shura—a process of collective consultation. He noted that a proposal to centralize leadership under a single group was not adopted; instead, responsibilities were distributed among regional officials in line with the party’s Constitution and By-Laws.
He firmly denied claims that any leader had been removed from their post, clarifying that the meeting only resulted in a consensus-based realignment of roles.
According to Abas, some participants expressed differing views during the discussions, which may have led to misinterpretations and the spread of incomplete information among certain members.
Despite the controversy, he maintained that the meeting concluded on a positive note and that the party remains united and intact. He acknowledged that such challenges are not unusual, particularly with elections on the horizon, when efforts to create division may emerge.
Abas urged the public to exercise caution and seek full context before forming conclusions.
“This is a misleading post,” he stressed, reiterating the party’s call for the public to rely only on verified information from official UBJP channels.
