Turnover ceremony marks milestone for MILF-MNLF communities economic resiliency project

The event brought together the Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society (CBCS) with the MISEREOR Project, along with 20 civil society organizations (CSOs) and 20 community beneficiaries of the Bangsamoro Sagip Kabuhayan (BSK) Program. The initiative is funded through the Transitional Development Impact Fund (TDIF) of Member of Parliament Atty. Raissa J. Jajurie and facilitated by the Ministry of Social Services and Development (MSSD) Regional Office.
The participating CSOs are part of a broader network of 192 organizations across ten area clusters: Kutawato, Soguda Buayan, Dabaw, Ranaw, Sharif Alawi, Sibugay, Zamboanga, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.
Representatives from key Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) ministries attended the ceremony, including MSSD, Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE), Office of the Other Bangsamoro Communities (OOBC), Bangsamoro Information Office (BIO), and Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR).
In his message, CBCS Chairperson Guiamel Alim emphasized the importance of addressing grassroots concerns and ensuring institutional accountability.
“I invite the ministries and offices present today to hear the concerns of our communities and CSOs. If they make commitments, I will have a basis to hold their leaders accountable,” Alim said.
He also noted that BTA Members can provide seed funding through TDIF, citing MP Jajurie’s initiative.
Ismael “Mike” Kulat, Project Manager of the Transforming Alliance for Prosperity and Good Governance (TAP-GG) Project funded by MISEREOR, expressed appreciation to ministry representatives, the CBCS Council of Leaders, CSOs, and MILF-MNLF community beneficiaries for their participation.
Kulat emphasized that community-driven initiatives serve as effective models for government offices and partner institutions, encouraging broader support for grassroots organizations across the region.
During the event, participating communities showcased their locally produced goods, demonstrating how the BSK Program has strengthened their livelihoods.
BARMM ministry representatives delivered messages and read statements from their respective heads, reaffirming their commitment to support CSOs and communities in sustaining and expanding assistance programs.
Highlighting three years of engagement, Kulat shared that CBCS–TAP-GG has supported 192 member CSOs and now awaits a Council of Leaders (COL) Resolution to formally affirm network membership applications. He also thanked the ministries, particularly MSSD, for providing capital assistance to selected CSOs and MILF-MNLF communities.
The ceremony marks a significant milestone in promoting inclusive development, strengthening partnerships, and advancing sustainable economic opportunities in the Bangsamoro region.
