MBHTE assures athletes of better conditions at BARMM meet

Education Minister Mohagher Iqbal made the assurance Sunday after participants to the BARMM Athletic Association Meet 2026 complained about water shortages and poor billeting conditions in Parang town.
"We are working around the clock with our partners to provide a conducive environment for all," Iqbal said.
He said the welfare of student-athletes, teachers, and parents is the ministry's top priority.
Iqbal acknowledged that housing and utility problems were observed at the start of the event. He said the complaints posted on social media by the Lamitan City delegation had already been addressed.
He also thanked Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua for acting quickly on the matter.
"The immediate intervention of the Office of the Chief Minister — particularly in providing water and coordinating with local authorities — ensures that our delegates can focus on sportsmanship and competition," Iqbal said.
