BPDA, Mahintana Foundation sign MoU for ProPEACEPH Project in Bangsamoro

COTABATO CITY – The Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA) and Mahintana Foundation Inc. have formalized their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the implementation of the ProPEACEPH Project, a peacebuilding initiative aimed at strengthening community resilience and inclusive development across the Bangsamoro region.

The signing ceremony was held on April 28–29, 2026, at the Alnor Hotel and Convention Center, this city, as part of a two-day Inception and Learning Exchange Workshop. The Office for Other Bangsamoro Communities (OOBC) witnessed the signing and reported the event through its official Facebook page on May 2, 2026.

Joining the BPDA and Mahintana Foundation in the agreement were several partner organizations, including the Oblates of Notre Dame, Tribal Leaders Development Foundation Inc., Maguindanao Development Foundation Inc., and Kasilak Development Foundation Inc. Their collective participation signals a unified commitment to advancing peace, resilience, and development in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and its surrounding communities.

Officials from various Bangsamoro ministries and partner institutions attended the workshop, expressing strong support for the initiative and highlighting the value of inter-agency cooperation in achieving sustainable peace.

The workshop provided stakeholders a platform to align project objectives, validate implementation frameworks, and identify priority interventions through structured discussions and collaborative planning sessions.

The OOBC — the office mandated to represent and address the concerns of Bangsamoro communities living outside the core territory of BARMM — emphasized the significance of the partnership in ensuring that the development needs of these communities are reflected in broader programming. The office reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive peacebuilding efforts that leave no Bangsamoro community behind.

ProPEACEPH, which stands for Promoting Peace Engagements and Community Empowerment–Philippines, is a peacebuilding program backed by the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF). It seeks to strengthen grassroots participation, build local capacities, and address the root causes of conflict as part of a long-term effort to promote sustainable peace and development across Mindanao.
