First batch of Filipino pilgrims for Hajj 2026 arrives safely in Madinah

According to a Facebook post by the Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah dated May 2, 2026, the pilgrims landed on May 1 aboard Philippine Airlines Flight PR8654.
They were warmly welcomed at the airport by Philippine Ambassador Raymond Balatbat, Consul General Rommel Romato, National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) Hajj Attaché Musal Harun, along with representatives from Saudi authorities, Madinah-based service providers, and the NCMF Hajj Supervisory Team.
The Consulate General also announced the rollout of the new “Hajj Without Luggage” service this year. The initiative allows pilgrims’ checked baggage to be transported directly from Manila to their hotels in Madinah, greatly simplifying arrival and transit.
Hajj 2026 is scheduled from May 25 to 30, 2026.
One of the Five Pillars of Islam, Hajj is a once-in-a-lifetime religious obligation for every physically and financially capable Muslim. The pilgrimage consists of sacred rites performed in Makkah and surrounding areas, symbolizing unity, humility, equality, and complete submission to Allah.
Officials expressed hope that all Filipino pilgrims will have a safe, meaningful, and spiritually fulfilling Hajj experience.
