CAMP DARAPANAN, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte — The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) has carried out a fresh reorganization of its Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF), appointing new Officers-in-Charge (OIC) to several key Base Commands.
The appointments were formalized through Appointment Order No. 1-2026, issued by the Office of the MILF Chairman on April 30, 2026, at the group’s main camp here. The order was personally signed by MILF Chairman Al Haj Murad Ebrahim.
MILF leadership described the move as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen operational efficiency, internal discipline, and administrative management within the organization. The reorganization is intended to ensure smoother coordination and the continued implementation of MILF policies during the critical transition period in the Bangsamoro region.
The following individuals were designated as Officers-in-Charge:
•Teng Jikiri — 104th Base Command
•Abdulhaq Ibrahim — 105th Base Command
•Hajji Rajan-Verjiv F. Abdurahman — 114th Base Command
•Dagadas Alim — 118th Base Command
•Hadji Nor Dipatuan — 123rd Base Command
•Abdulmajid Abuat — 124th Base Command
•Abu Saima (also known as Hashim Husain) — 128th Base Command
The newly appointed OICs are expected to assume immediate responsibility over their respective areas in accordance with MILF organizational guidelines and policies.
The appointment order also underscored the importance of strictly observing the cessation of hostilities and complying with the existing ceasefire agreement between the MILF and the Philippine government. MILF leaders stressed that these measures are vital in maintaining peace and stability as the broader Bangsamoro peace process advances.
Political observers view the reorganization as part of the MILF’s preparations for the next phase of the political and governance transition in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The changes are seen as a step toward bolstering internal coordination and ensuring organizational stability within the BIAF amid the ongoing implementation of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) and related peace accords.
The MILF has been gradually shifting its focus from armed struggle to governance and institution-building since the establishment of the BARMM in 2019, with the region scheduled to hold its first parliamentary elections in September 2026.
