BTA Parliament drafts 10-year strategic framework ahead of historic elections

BTA Speaker Mohammad Yacob said the ongoing Parliament Strategic Planning Framework Workshop — conducted in partnership with the Development Academy of the Philippines — brings together lawmakers to identify long-term priorities covering the parliament's legislative, oversight, and representation functions.
The three-day workshop, held in Davao City, opened on June 1 and concludes on June 3.
Under the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL), the BTA serves as BARMM's provisional government during the transition period, exercising the powers and functions of the parliament until regular members are elected.
"The institution must continue to evolve to reflect the aspirations of the Bangsamoro people while strengthening participatory governance, accountability and public service," Yacob said.
The Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) turned over a parliamentary roadmap outlining measures to support institutional stability and continuity as the Bangsamoro parliament transitions into its next phase of development.
The strategic plan is expected to give the incoming parliament clear direction, established frameworks, and policy foundations to strengthen governance from day one.
