MDFI holds Series of IEC Campaign

In the light of the implementation by Maguindanaon Development Foundation Incorporated (MDFi) of Project Support Interventions to the MNLF-MILF Convergence in Areas, the MDFi, in cooperation with The Asia Foundation (TAF) conducted a forum entitled Peace Process Updates and Critical Convergence Points for Bangsamoro Fronts at SunCity Suites, General Santos City on May 9, 2017.

The forum aims to gather the major stakeholders in various levels to encourage coordination, cooperation, and common efforts in attaining the common vision for the Bangsamoro. 

The forum was attended by 64 selected key leaders and decision-makers of Moro Fronts, traditional leaders, organizations and agencies created for the Peace Process. 

Speakers were high profile officers of the MNLF, MILF and OPPAP. They updated the participants on the progress of the implementation of the peace agreements between the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation fronts (MILF) and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), as well as the peace roadmap intended to fulfill the 6- Point Peace and Development Agenda of the current administration of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.  

The MDFI also held series of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaign on Bangsamoro Peace Process in the provincial levels. 

Several personalities were invited served as resource persons from the MDFI in the person of Dausay S. Daulog, MDFI Executive Director who explained the purpose and expected outputs of IEC. 

From the MILF, Professor Esmael A. Abdula, Executive Director of Kalilintad Peacebuilding Institute and BLMI Steering Committee member discussed the Gains of the Bangsamoro Peace Process.

From the MNLF, Comr. Leopoldo “Polding” Lalong, MNLF-Sate Chaiman, Davao Del Sur, Revolutionary Committee who discussed Unity and Solidarity of Bangsamoro/Sharing of experiences. 

Datu Utto Salem D. Cuta, Vice Mayor of Maasim, Sarangani Province  discussed the MNLF-GPH Peace Process and Labualas “Mayor Samrod Mamansual discussed updates on MNLF-GPH Peace Process, while from the OPAPP, Ryan Dave Jungco of the CCCH who discussed GPH Peace and Development Road Map.

During the conduct of the IEC, several questions and clarifications regarding the Bangsamoro struggle were raised and answered by the speakers. The participants also expressed their full support on the GPH-MILF peace process for betterment of the Bangsamoro people.
