Iqbal Lauds Forum ZFD, Kumunet for Initiating Peace Dialogue with ARMM Employees

COTABATO CITY. April 24, 2018. The Chairman of Moro Islamic Liberation Front Peace Implementing Panel (MILF PIP) Mohagher Iqbal lauded FORUM ZFD, a German International Non - Government Organization  based in Cotabato City, and Kutawato Multimedia Network ( KuMuNet), a local organization of Multimedia Practitioners of Bangsamoro core area for initiating a peace dialogue with employees of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao ( ARMM) this coming April 26, 2018 ( Thursday)  at Shariff Kabungsuan Cultural Complex,  ORG Compound,  Cotabato City.

" The upcoming peace dialogue is timely and appropriate in setting the record straight the doubts and misapprehensions by the region’s employees who will be affected when transition takes place after the passage and ratification of Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL).

“Rest assured that we will observe the rule of law and due process. There are certain legal mechanisms to be afforded to the affected employees. " Iqbal said.

There was a report last two months ago that a certain Assistant Commissioner of Civil Service Commission  (CSC) made an irresponsible statement that caused panic and misconceptions among ARMM employees. The statement says that,  " There are about 34,000 employees mostly public school teachers that would lose their jobs if a Bangsamoro political entity will be created under the Bangsamoro Basic Law as a first step towards a shift to a Federal system of government. "

The proposed peace dialogue aims to engage ARMM employees particularly those who are critical on the establishment of the Bangsamoro Region and clarify misconceptions, provide them with correct information and transform their perceptions to generate a constituency of supportive communities to the Bangsamoro peace process.

The proposed activity will be graced by Deputy Speaker Bai Sandra Sema will give an update on BBL, and Iqbal will be talking about the Proposed Bangsamoro Government in the BBL, and Federalism.

Jose Lorena will give inputs on transition period: Its Implications to the present ARMM, while ARMM Executive Secretary Atty.  Laisa Masuhud Alamia will be talking about Separation and Terminal Leave Benefits of ARMM employees.
