Christians for Peace Movement joins kickoff rally for BOL campaign

The Christians for Peace Movement expressed solidarity with the hundred of thousands of Bangsamoro and indigenous people during the official launch for the campaign for the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) last Monday December 10, 2018 in Cotabato City.

Fr. Clifford Baira, convenor of the Christians for Peace Movement, said that the Christians in the Bansamoro have reached a consensus that they appreciate the BOL as “an answer to the past political problem as well as to the present and future ones.”

He also said that they will help the Government and Moro Islamic Liberation Front in “uphold(ing) the spirit of the campaign for the ratification of BOL.”

Fr. Baira, also the Director of Social Action Ministry of the Archdiocese of Cotabato, represented His Eminence Orlando Cardinal Quevedo, OMI DD in the event organized by the Peace Implementing Panels of the GPH and MILF.

He stressed that Cardinal Quevedo is very vocal in his opinions towards the historical injustices against the Bangsamoros and is supportive of the BOL.
