Carmen Mayor Taliño Commits All Out Support to BOL

Cotabato City- The Municipal Mayor of Carmen, North Cotabato Rogelio T. Taliño committed his full support to the ratification of R. A. 11054 or popularly known as Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) this forthcoming plebiscite on February 6, 2019, the second phase of the BOL plebiscite for Lanao Norte and North Cotabato. 


The mayor's statement of support was received by the Chairman of MILF Peace Implementating Panel Mohagher Iqbal during the General Meeting of MILF-PIP and all of its peace mechanisms on January 25, 2019 held at Em Manor Hotel, Cotabato City. 

In his statement, Taliño believes " that supporting the BOL will ultimately give peace and harmony among Tri - People as a whole in the Province of Cotabato." 

He stressed his reason why he is in full support to the BOL, vis a vis;

" We want to achieve a sustainable peace in fulfilling a more progressive community and want to give our Muslim brothers and sisters a chance for the full implementation of BARMM. 

Taliño reiterated what he had said during their recent convocation program for the 7 Barangays out of 28 Barangays in his Municipality namely: Nasapian, Kibayao, Tupig, Manarapan, Kitulaan, Langogan and Pibpoloan who opted for the inclusion in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). 

" There is no reason for me to hold them. As the father of Carmen, they have my support as much as they wanted to follow their desire to be included in the new political entity. My stand is final - Yes to BOL."

Mayor Taliño is the father of the Provincial Governor Lala Talino - Mendoza of North Cotabato who is seeking for her last term this coming 2019 midterm and local elections. 

There are at least 69 Barangays of North Cotabato who opted for inclusion in the BARMM from its 7 Municipalities of Pigcawayan, Midsayap, Aleosan, Pikit, Carmen, Kabacan and Tulunan. 

Mohagher Iqbal for his part thanked Mayor Taliño for his good gesture of supporting the aspiration of the Bangsamoro people in their quest for sustainable peace and development. 

"This is a welcome development for all of us and I hope all the Municipal Mayors and their constituents who will undergo a plebiscite this coming February 6 will follow suit in supporting the ratification of BOL by voting Yes and be part of history in the Bangsamoro in laying the foundation of peace for our children and the next generation to come, " he added.
