BDA undertakes “Data Collection on Food Basket Survey and Market Assessment”

The undertaking is supported by the United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP).
As an initial activity, the BDA together with UNWFP on Tuesday (Sept 8) paid courtesy visit to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR).
Former BDA Executive Director and now MAFAR Minister Sheikh Mohammad S. Yacob welcomed the project and expressed his full support to the initiative.
Yacob acknowledge the importance of data to improve services to the communities.
In its facebook page, the BDA said the orientation and training of the project staff contracted the project was conducted on September 10-11, 2020 through online platforms.
The undertaking was geared to present the project objectives, arrangements and discuss the tools to be used for the data gathering, among others.
According to BDA, the data collection for this project will be conducted in 122 municipalities in the provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and North Cotabato.
The huge part of the Bangsamoro region is generally into agriculture and fisheries industries. Vast tracks of land in the region is fertile and can be developed.
The Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) was created by virtue of the GPH-MILF Tripoli Agreement on Peace of June 22, 2001.
