CBCS holds rapid survey in Gensan on BARMM’s performance

The Consortium of Bangsamoro Civil Society Organizations (CBCS) held a rapid on Bangamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s (BARMM) performance on Thursday (Nov 19) at Tambilawan Restaurant in General Santos City.
The activity is part of the effort to CBCS to know how the Bangsamoro people benefitted from the establishment of the BARMM in terms of economy, peace and security and unification of the people.

It was participated by identified Bangsamoro leaders from different sectors such as Kadatuan, academe, civil society organizations, cooperative, fisher folks, farmers, religious, Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), Moro National Liberation Front, media, women and youth.

Each participant was asked if he/she is satisfied with the BARMM’s implementation of programs and projects.

There was also an open discussion for the sectoral representatives to tell their observations and recommendations on the Bangsamoro government’s performance and how it could improve in providing services to its people.

One of the recommendations was that the Bangsamoro government should establish a mechanism on how it can serve the Bangsamoro people outside its territorial jurisdiction.

On peace and security issue, it was also suggested that the BARMM should create a special body in the municipal or barangay levels that can quickly respond to Rido (clan war) to avoid casualty and displacement of affected community members.

The organizer will convene the participants again to ask their stand on the proposed extension of the Bangsamoro transition.
