Pres. Marcos, MNLF Chair Misuari to attend inauguration of newly appointed BTA members

COTABATO CITY – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. will grace with his presence the inauguration of the newly appointed members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament on Sept. 15 that will be held at the Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex in this city.

In the invitation that he made through the authority of Parliament Speaker Pangalian Balindong, BTA Secretary-General Prof. Raby Angkal, the BTA secretary-general, said Marcos would attend the inauguration ceremony after their inaugural session in the morning.

Angkal also told the BTA members to take the reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) or antigen test before entering the plenary session hall.

Meanwhile, Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) founding chair Nur Misuari confirmed joining the inauguration after having been invited on Sunday by Bangsamoro Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim during their meeting in the house of the former in Davao City, BARMM Senior Minister Abdulraof Macacua said.

Macacua said Ebrahim, who visited Misuari on Sunday, invited the MNLF founding chair, to the inauguration.

“Yes, I will be there, in shaa Allah (God willing),” Macacua quoted Misuari to have said.

Macacua said “the meeting between Misuari and Ebrahim also coincided with the call for unity of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the celebration this September of the national peace consciousness month.”

“The two children of Brother Nur (Abdulkarim and Nurredha) who are now members of the BTA Parliament told their father that ‘we have two fathers now,’ you (Misuari) and the Chief Minister,” Macacua said.

“As a response, Misuari said ‘yes’ and asked Ebrahim to take care of them,” Macacua added.

“The meeting of the two leaders centered on unity and solidarity and for them to jointly work for the best interest of the Bangsamoro region and its constituents,” Macacua concluded.
