CCCH Chair Malang pays courtesy visit to Army’s 6ID

To further strengthen the collaborative efforts in securing peace and order situation in Central Mindanao, Butch Malang, chairman of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (CCCH), on Tuesday paid a courtesy visit to MGen. Alex Santos Rillera, commander of the Philippine Army’s 6th Infantry Division, in Camp Siongco, Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.
Malang, concurrent administrator of the Special Geographic Area Development Authority (SGADA) of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), was accompanied by his counterpart from the side of the Government of the Philippines (GPH), BGen. Eduardo Gubat.

In the meeting, several issues on peace and order in Central Mindanao were discussed to determine relevant joint efforts that could mitigate the impact of conflicts and minimize casualties and property losses.

Clarifications were also made on various false accusations thrown against some members of the MILF’s Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF) to sustain confidence-building measures between the GPH and MILF security forces.

Also present during the meeting were Municipal Councilor Melhan Hamid of Pikit, North Cotabato; MILF-CCCH Secretariat Member Zubair Guiaman, and MILF-CCCH Administrative Support Staff Abduljabar "Maestro Buka" Guialil.

The MILF remains true to its pledge to continually sustain the gains of the peace process through its strong adherence to the GPH-MILF ceasefire protocols.
