Moro youth graduated Summa Cum Laude at WMSU

Making the Bangsamoro people proud of her achievement, a female Moro youth received her college diploma this year with the highest distinction from her university. 

Shalaine Sana Tatu, who took Bachelor of Science in Physics, graduated Summa Cum Laude early this April at Western Mindanao State University (WMSU) in Zamboanga City.

Her diligence and perseverance in educational endeavour yielded an average grade of 1.1916.

In an article by Kai Darul posted in facebook, it said that Tatu is the first BS Physics Summa Cum Laude, the first Summa Cum Laude from the College of Science and Mathematics of WMSU and the first Summa Cum Laude of the said university after more than 20 years.

“My hope for Muslims in the Philippines is for us not to become merely a minority in this country where we are wrongly judged as terrorists and war-freaks,” Tatu said in the interview by Darul.

“I dream that the Muslims in the Philippines will excel in everything they do, and to make a change in this country’s status quo. I dream of being in a land where Allah’s laws are followed and not violated for the sake of this worldly life,” she added.

Tatu said in the interview that she wants to pursue Medical Physics in University of Sto. Tomas. 

In April 2013, Aiman Cairoden from Lanao del Sur, graduated as the first Moro Summa Cum Laude in Mindanao State University-Main in Marawi City.
