BDA-ZamBas Region Officials pay courtesy call to Mayor of Sumisip

Isabela City, Basilan May 4, 2016. The leadership and staff of BDA Zamboanga-Basilan Region led by its Regional Manager Tawab S. Kararon paid courtesy call yesterday, May 4, 2016 to Mayor Gulam Hataman of Sumisip, Basilan as regards the Bangsamoro ADVANCE program. The group was entertained at the mayor’s residence. Mayor Hataman is brother of ARMM RG Mujiv S. Hataman.

Bangsamoro ADVANCE is an acronym for Assistance for Development and Community Empowerment which is an extension of the Mindanao Trust Fund Reconstruction & Development Program under Partnership Agreements 4 (PPA4).

Manager Kararon gave the purpose of their visit to observe protocol and to show respect to the local chief executive. 

Project Operation Officer Manap Gapor explained the Vision, Mission and Objectives of BDA and Bangsamoro ADVANCE as follows: 

1. To support the gains of the peace process and the legitimacy of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB);

 2. To extend community development and Iivelihood activities of MTF-RDP to the communities under the influence of the twenty-five the Base Camps of the MILF; and 

3. To provide equitable access to resources among different communities in the conflict-affected areas.

Furthermore, the purpose of the proposed program are to assist in the economic recovery of the conflict affected communities and support confidence building measures of the GPH  and the MILF as provided in the Comprehensive Agreement on Bangsamoro.

The visit lasted only for more than an hour as the mayor and other municipal leaders are busy campaigning since only five days remain for the campaign period.
