FBCSO holds another orientation-dialogue in North Cotabato

The Federation of Bangsamoro Civil Society Organizations (FBCSO) held  orientation-dialogue on August 7, 2016 at Matalam, Cotabato in partnership with the North Cotabato Development Services Association (NOCODESA) last August 7, 2016.

Ustadz Kamarudin Pedtamanan gave words of wisdom, while Engr. Datuhadud ‘Toto” Laguialaot, President of Community Halal Producer (CHAPC) acknowledged the participants. NOCODESA-FBCSO Coordinator for North Cotabato Province Mr. Akmad Timpolok who hosted the program gave the overview.

FBCSO Corporate Secretary Moidjoddin Talusob emphasized the significance of the activity where he urged the participants to support the peace process between the government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

Talusob asked organization who desires to be in partnership with FBCSO to conduct their own orientation provided they are registered, qualified and duly accredited by the mother organization (FBCSO).

Abdullah Salik, Jr. explained the road map towards the creation of the Bangsamoro based on the Framework Agreement on the Bangsamoro (FAB) and the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB).

“The GPH-MILF Peace Process will cease after an exit document is signed but not after all provisions and annexes are faithfully complied with by both parties”, Jun Salik said.
Jun Salik also said the proposed Bangsamoro Government is ministerial in form and there shall be created a Bangsamoro Parliament headed by the Chief Minister, with members from the MILF and other sectors.

Nas Pulindao, FBCSO Deputy President of FBCSO spoke on the GPH-MILF Peace Track. He narrated the causes and effects of the Bangsamoro struggle as well as the historical background of the Moro Homeland since the time of conquests up to the present.

“The GPH-MILF peace panels concluded their May 29-30 special meeting in Malaysia with the signing of the Declaration of Continuity of the Joint Statement of Partnership of the GPH and MILF in the Bangsamoro Peace Process”, Pulindao said.

In a joint statement, the peace panels asserted that the signing of the declaration “seeks to ensure the full implementation of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) in the next administration.”  Pulindao told the participants.

He also mentioned some major successes in the Bangsamoro peace process under the Aquino administration that jumpstarted with the meeting of President Benigno Aquino, Jr. and MILF Chairman Al Haj Murad Ebrahim on August 2011 in Tokyo, Japan.

In 2012, the FAB was signed and in August 2014, the CAB was also signed by both parties.

“The CAB serves as the basis for the drafting of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) by the Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC) that will establish a parliamentary government in the Bangsamaoro with more political and fiscal autonomy compared to the current Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). The CAB also outlines socio-economic and normalization provisions” Pulindao added.

The said event ended with input-sharing, discussed the shared concept and perceptions of individual participants.
