Orphans thank concerned Muslims for sharing Iftar, non-food stuffs

More than a hundred orphans in Markhadz Al Mansour in Barangay Koronadal Proper, Polomolok, South Cotabato expressed gratitude to concerned Muslim individuals for providing Iftar (food taken to break the fast) and other non-food stuffs during the holy month of Ramadhan.

Moro professionals from General Santos City and provinces of South Cotabato and Sarangani personally served Iftar for five days.

They also delivered toiletries, towels, blankets, slippers, mugs and plates in their will to provide the orphans with necessary stuff for their hygiene and dining.

Aside from their own contributions, the initiators sourced out support from benevolent Muslims and some organizations from the locality and abroad.

They look forward to continue their services to the orphans even after Ramadhan.

Ramadhan is the period of sacrificing and sharing blessings to those who are needy.

Islam mandates able-bodied Muslims, male or female, rich or poor, to observe fasting.

Muslims who fast abstain from eating, drinking and engaging in sexual acts from dawn till sunset.

Fasting during Ramadhan is one of the five pillars of Islam. It teaches self-restraint and discipline.

It also gives opportunity to those who are well-off to feel how the poor feel, the hunger and thirst, thus it promotes the value of sharing something to the needy.
