"Sarangani Madaris Facilitators undergo assessment test"

As part of its continuing support to Madaris education, the provincial government of Sarangani through its Madaris for Peace Project under the Office of the Governor, conducted an assessment test to the Madaris Facilitators aimed to guide the management of Madrasah centers on what grade level should the mentors teach.

More than 125 Madaris Facilitators who serve as the teaching force of weekend Madaris classes in six towns of Sarangani underwent the assessment test on December 7.

Ustadz Abdulbayan Laguialam, Madaris for Peace Project Manager said there are Madaris Facilitators who were deployed in grade levels where they are not competent yet.

“With this assessment test, we will know what grade level they should be assigned to teach,” he explained.

Laguilam further said the Madaris for Peace Project provides annual capacity enhancement training, teaching materials, educational exposure, and honoraria for the Madaris Facilitators.

“We are lucky here in Sarangani because the provincial government has corresponding program that help our Madaris education,” he said.

Support to Madaris education in Sarangani has started since the stint of the first Governor Priscilla Chiongbian. The succeeding governors improved their interventions to 49 Madrasah centers in six towns of the province.

Sarangani is home to different Moro tribes such as Maguindanaon, Tausog, Sangir, Iranun, Maranao and Kaagan.
