The negotiation that started in January 1997 was brought to standstill when President Joseph Estrada declared an all-out war against the MILF in 2000.

IMT then started its deployment to Mindanao in 2004.

“In my personal feeling, no amount of words that can compensate in praising all the members, from IMT One to IMT Twelve, who are today in the conclusion of their tour-of-duty as manifested by many exit calls they have to BIAF, and MILF Leadership, ” Chief of Staff Sammy Al Mansour said.

“IMT Mindanao 12 is going to leave Mindanao. I must acknowledge that we have gained a wealth of knowledge that we will always treasure. Our hearts will remain with the Bangsamoro people.

We pray that Bangsamoro Government will be realized and the Bangsamoro people will succeed and prosper, in Shaa Allah”, Major General Paiman’s message in a   bit of emotional tone.
