DARAPANAN, Sultan Kudarat, May 04, 2018 – Around 200 participants from various provinces of Indonesia, and representatives from Palestine, Turkey, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Sudan, Australia, Lebanon, Syria, Thailand, and the Philippines joined the Indonesian Consortium for Liberation of Al-Aqsa (ICLA) Conference held at Bandar Lampung, Indonesia from April 30 to May 2, 2018.

The delegates where one in expressing sympathies to the plight of the Palestinians in the hands of oppressive Israel that occupies a large part of Palestinian lands.

Abdulrasid Midzapak of the United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) representing the Bangsamoro People of the Philippines was among the signatories of the “Lampung Declaration on the Liberation of Palestine and Al-Aqsa.”

Midzapak said, the participants had manifested their expression of support for the freedom of the Palestinians.

“The delegates signed a declaration strongly calling the Muslim people to unite in addressing the issue of Palestine,” he said.

They believe that all Muslims must be united in this position “because the issue on Palestine affects the Muslim Ummah worldwide,” Midzapak said further.

It is recalled that few months ago US President Donald Trump declared the City of Jerusalem as new capital of Israel that only earned criticisms and condemnation from Muslim countries, while a majority of Western Countries were mum on the issue.

In a gathering at the City of Cotabato, hundreds of Bangsamoro Muslims from various peace institutions have strongly opposed the illegal occupation of Palestinian lands including Jerusalem by the Zionist-controlled Israel.

The gathering of Moros was organized by Bangsamoro Action Against Injustices (BAAI).

In their Manifesto, they said that the “malicious recognition of Jerusalem as the new capital of Israel by Pres. Trump is an insult not only to the Palestinian People but to the entire Muslim Ummah.”

The Masjidil-Aqsa is located in East Jerusalem. The BAAI said that this is the third holiest place in Islam after Masjidil-Haram in Makkah, and the Masjidin Nabawi in Madinah.

It is said that Al Aqsa was once the Qiblah of the Muslims and it was the destination of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) during his night journey (Isra) before his mi’raj (ascension) towards heaven.
