ASTA MADRASA, TULUNGATUNG, ZAMBOANGA CITY, MAY 27.20I8. PAZAMBATASUL (Palawan, Zamboanga, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi and Sulu) Development Inc. through SIAPAHAN (Southern Islamic Action for Peace and Harmony Network), a local Non-Government Organization (NGO) distributed packed-lunch for” Iftar” to some 45 Moro residents in Barangay Tulungatung, Zamboanga City.

The distribution was made during the program dubbed as “Ramadhan Forum” in support for the passage of Bangsamoro Transition Commission (BTC)-drafted Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) by the 17thCongress.

Ustadz Taha Daranda, SIAPAHAN Officer, and CSO Focal Person in Zamboanga City delivered the Islamic orientation on the virtues of Ramadhan, and the forum rationale as well. Updates on BBL were the highlights of the half-day activity.

On spiritual aspect, Madaris Teacher Ustadz Benjabar Daris in his lecture reminded everyone that life in this word is similitude to sports and recreation that Ramadhan is about change. Change in heart, attitude, and everything humanly prone to change.

He quoted the Qur’anic Verse: ”Verily ALLAH does not change the condition of people unless they change it themselves} Sura Ar-Ra`d. 13:11.

Ustadz Julpikar Musa, a second lecturer described the blessed month of Ramadhan as a parable of healing physician that cures spiritual diseases which cannot be cured by medical science.

On his part, Brother Phix, UNYPAD- Western Mindanao Regional Coordinator shared his experience in his tedious journey to war-torn Marawi during his peace-building effort.

He also gave updates on BBL and what he observed in the Congressional deliberations on BBL that according to him, BBL is not in smooth sailing. It is under attacked by Constitutional issues despite BTC effort in making it constitutional compliant in conformity with the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB)

In their closing messages, Ustadz Daranda and a Moro Community leader expressed their gratitude to PAZAMBASATUL Dev’t Inc. for the assistance extended to the activity, and to other Bangsamaoro undertakings. They both appealed to Bangsamoro to share their part in peace-building effort and spiritual upliftment in this blessed Month of Ramadhan especially that Bangsamoro is in its critical period.

The Forum was facilitated by Peace Advocates core group and officers from Bangsamoro Leadership and Management Institute (BLMI), UNYPAD, and MAPAD Regional coordinator.

The Provincial Director, Committee on Information was also in attendance. ,
