Thousands attend Bangsamoro Youth, and Professionals Assembly in Buluan, Mauindanao

BULUAN, MAGUINDANAO (July 9, 2018) ---- Thousands of local residents attended the Bangsamoro Youth and Professionals' Assembly held in this town, mostly representatives  of various sectors from different municipalities of the provinces of Maguindanao, North Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat with a common call of restoring the deleted, and amended provisions of the Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) crafted by the Bangsamoro Transition Commission. 

Women’s group in their manifesto called on the Bicameral Conference Committee to restore all deleted and amended provisions of the BTC- crafted BBL to pave the way for lasting peace in Mindanao.

Kalilintad Peacebuilding Institute (KPI) also called on President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to fulfill his promise to correct the historical injustices committed against Moro people through the passage of the BBL.

Sahabudin Ukang, Vice-Chairman of Muslim Youth Brotherhood-Damakling Chapter emotionally said that the implementation of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) through the passage of an acceptable BBL will end bloody hostilities in Mindanao,  deaths of innocent civilians especially children, women, the ageds and the loss of billions worth of properties.

Most of the speakers were one in saying that passing the BTC-BBL Version will not only correct historical injustices committed against the Moro people, but will also accelerate development in the proposed Bangsamoro Region whose people have long suffered oppression, and marginalization due to centuries of foreign and Filipino colonialism..
