UBJP Maguindanao orients poll watchers, assistors for BOL Plebiscite

DATU PAGLAS, Maguindanao (December 1, 2018) ----- The United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP)-Maguindanao oriented selected poll watchers and assistors for the January 21st plebiscite to ratify the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).

UBJP Maguindanao Secretary Rahib Payapat told the participants that their overwhelming ‘Yes’ votes for BOL will result to the establishment of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Government.

Payapat emphasized that, “Conversion of votes into yes, delivery of votes and protection of votes must be assured by the voters for the implementation of BOL.” 

Payapat added that international media organizations, international non-government organizations, members of the European Union, Bangsamoro Free Election Movement, and other groups will observe, and monitor the conduct of the 2019 Plebiscite.

Abubacar Paglas, Mayor of Datu Paglas, Maguindanao, said that the Local Government of Datu Paglas is supportive to the conduct of plebiscite for BOL.

Mayor Paglas told the participants that ‘yes to yes’ and ‘no to no’ votes must be campaigned in the communities.

Professor Esmael A. Abdula, Chairman of Media and Documentation of UBJP-Maguindanao, said “Today our struggle that started from bullets shall proceed to casting of ballots during the January 21st Plebiscite.  It is a realization of Bangsamoro peoples’ aspiration for self-governance reflective of their culture, tradition and religion.”

Abdula emphasized “Our last battle now is in the precincts where we must cast our yes votes for the ratification of the Bangsamoro Organic Law.” Once the BOL is ratified, the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) will assume the governance of the current ARMM.

Atty. Abdul Dataya, Chairman of UBJP-Maguindanao said in his message that, “Our votes will be the future of our children. These are fruits of our ancestors’ struggle and the struggle of living fighters who spent their unending commitment for right to self-determination.”

“I urge you to vote yes in the coming BOL Plebiscite in the name of justice, peace and development in our homeland”, Dataya further said.

The UBJP-Maguindanao has been conducting series of orientation of poll watchers and assistors for BOL Plebiscite in the 36 municipalities of Maguindanao Province.

The UBJP had already conducted orientations in the 12 municipalities, namely; Buluan, Pandag, Montawal, General Salipada K. Pendatun, Mangudadatu, Paglat, Shariff Aguak, Barira, Buldon, Matanog, Parang and Datu Paglas.
