Datu Paglas, Maguindanao- Maguindanao- Thousands of residents from different towns of Maguindanao participated in a peace caravan early morning on January 9 in support to the upcoming plebiscite on January 21, 2019 for the ratification of Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).
The participants came from the municipalities of Datu Paglas, Buluan, Pandag, Paglat, Mangudadatu and General Salipada K. Pendatun.
Abdul Muliles, member of CCCH-MILF said that around 1,500 motorcycles and 300 4-wheeler vehicles participated in the caravan.
He also said that the people of the said municipalities strongly support the ratification of the BOL considered as a significant legacy of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the Moro people.
The BOL was passed by Congress on July 2018, and signed by the president on the same day.
The caravan was organized by 109th Base Command of the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF-MILF), MILF Damakling Provincial Political Committee and its standing committees, and the United Bangsamoro Justice Party-Maguindanao Chapter.
The plebiscite on January 21st will include the present ARMM, Cotabato City and Isabela city, Basilan, while the six (6) municipalities of Lanao Del Norte, 39 Barangays of North Cotabato, and barangays whose petition for inclusion into the Bangsamoro were approved by COMELEC will be on February 6.
