Bangsamoro Community Leaders in Zamboanga City receive Rice Assistance from BARMM

ZAMBOANGA CITY (June28-2020)- The Bangsamoro communities in Zamboanga city have received rice assistance from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), Saturday, June 27. 
Like other Moro communities living outside the BARMM core areas, the 1,000 sacks of Rice (25 kg. each sack) were allotted for barangays in Zamboanga City by Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim, Al Haj, through his Executive Secretary and Minister of MENRE Abdulraof A. Macacua. 

The assistance was received by Hji Imlah Ajibon, Chairman of MILF Zamboanga City Political Committee, and distributed them to Bangsamoro families in various barangays through different MILF committees and line agencies in the city. 

“Since we are still in the midst of COVID-19 Pandemic where our livelihood is gravely affected, this Rice assistance from BARMM is very timely to ease the burden of Bangsamoro people here in the city. For that we are very thankful to BARMM and its officialdom,” Chairman Ajibon said.

Hji Usman, another community leader from an island barangay said that, “We are hopeful that in a very near future various assistance from the BARMM will reach the Bangsamoro communities living outside the BARMM areas under the principle of inclusiveness, and in compliance with the laws as stipulated in Article VI. Section XII in the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL). S,o let us sustain the gains of the peace agreement by supporting the BARMM Government and its abled-leadership”. 

Mr. Tirso Sulanting Tahir, Officer of Bangsamoro Leadership and Management Institute (BLMI), and BTA Parliament Staff in BTA-BARMM who was present during the meeting, and rice distribution gave brief updates on BARMM current programs, and other related matters.

“This relief assistance and other programs that BARMM are currently undertaking are in conformity with its mandates towards doable transformation through its bold initiatives where inclusiveness, transparency, efficiency and accountability are among the recipe of BARMM in the implementation of Moral Governance,” Tahir said. 

Aside from MILF line agencies and committees, representatives from other Bangsamoro NGO’s, CSO’s and IPs in Zamboanga City such as UNYPAD, MWAG, etc also received their share of the rice assistance. They also expressed their gratitude to BARMM leadership.
