Modules to be developed for Bangsamoro health program

A workshop on module development on Bangsamoro Health Leadership and Management Program (BHLMP) was held last September 22 to 23 at the Berjaya Hotel in Makati City inorder to draft purposeful training modules and evaluation plan.

BHLMP is a training program that objectively enhances the Bangsamoro Health Development Catalysts and Community Based Health Station Team (CBHST) on the aspect of health leadership and management competencies in the Bangsamoro areas.  

Bangsamoro Development Agency (BDA) is spearheading the program on BHLMP in partnership with Bangsamoro Leadership and Management Institute (BLMI), Bangsamoro Medical Society (BMS) and academics from Mindanao State University (MSU) in Dalican, Maguindanao. 

Dr. Charisse Cantor of Zuellig Family Foundation ZFF led in facilitating the workshop.

A review and revision of the outputs of two previous workshop sessions were done.

Dr. Heidee Buenaventura also of ZFF presented the workshop overall session objectives that included review and revision of BHLMP previous training modules. 

Aside from Islamic values and its best practices, the other main components of BHLMP Modules are Planning, Training designs, Evaluation and Training Cycle such as Assessment, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate (ADDIE) and the Concepts and Principles of Bridging Leadership (BL). It was facilitated and lectured by Mr. Michael San Roque of ZFF. 

On the second day session, Dr. Buenaventura presented the Training Evaluation Plan. She emphasized its essential concepts and methodology as well as its customary approaches and processes.   

Ms. Joa Lim, also of ZFF, lectured on the basic concept and principles of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) by stressing its importance in the implementation of program and project to measure its efficiency level, intense output and among others.

On the part of Training Materials Vetting, Dr. Buenaventura also presented the crucial concepts on what is needed and appropriate during the course of implementation in order to attain its desired output and visible impact in community.  

Before the workshop session ended, Dr. Cantor also came up with BHLMP implementation roadmap to guide the next steps effort as planned.  

In his closing message, BDA Executive Director Mohammad S. Yacob expressed his profound gratitude to ZFF Project Director Dr. Dorie Lyn O. Balanoba, her staff and facilitators, its funding agency the United Nation Population Fund (UNFPA) and BDA implementing partners for the effort and support extended to BDA. He was hopeful that it was just a beginning for more cohesive partnership for future engagement on BHLMP.
