UNYPAD members join Regional Youth Convention in Quezon City

COTABATO CITY-Four (4) members of the United Youth for Peace and Development, Inc. (UNYPAD)-Sultan Kudarat Province, and Cotabato City Chapters joined the recently concluded Regional Youth Convention (RYC) 2017 held at Quezon City, Manila, Philippines on November 17-19, 2017.

Among hundreds of applicants across Southeast Asian Region, Morsid Guiapal, Vice Chairman for Internal Affairs of UNYPAD-Sultan Kudarat Province, along with Norsahid Benito, Parid Makmod, and Noriel Alfonso Daud were selected to attend the event.

 RYC was first organized on November 12-13, 2016 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and initiated by the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), an international non-governmental organization registered with the United Nations (UN), in partnership with ten (10) Non-Government Organizations, five (5) institutions of higher learning and three (3) WAMY branches across Southeast Asia.

This year, RYC was hosted by WAMY Philippines Office in Metropolitan Manila with an innovative summit, workshops, conference, research simulations, youth talk and focus group discussions. Delving into realities facing the prospective growth of youth in an information world, RYC 2017 introduce the theme “Morality in an information-age”. 

RYC aims to bring closer ties to all WAMY offices across the region and Muslim organizations, and associations, to work together, share best practices, learn from each other, and craft resolutions which are deem applicable in the region.
