UNYPAD Gensan Chapter conducts orientation, oath-taking ceremony

GENERAL SANTOS CITY (March 5, 2021) -- The United Youth for Peace and Development (UNYPAD) General Santos (Gensan) City Chapter conducted orientation and oath-taking ceremony of its newly-installed officers and members held at the Raadz Place, Barangay Lagao in this town on Saturday (Feb 27).
Abdul Rashid Midzapak, Regional Coordinator for Western Mindanao, officiated the oath-taking and presented the mission, vision, goal and objectives of the organization.

“UNYPAD does not compete with other youth organizations, they are your partners,” he pointed out.

He further urged the new officers and members of Gensan Chapter to establish solidarity with fellow youth groups in quest of developing the young generation towards nation-building.

The regional coordinator said each one should has his respective task to avoid duplication of function.

Rudy Lumapinet, the Committee Chair on Environment and Natural Resources, reiterated that UNYPAD prioritize the youth and focuses on youth development.

He conveyed that UNYPAD was commended as the fastest expanding and biggest youth organization in the countryside.

Lumapinet said the Bangsamoro Government look at the capacity of the civil society organization to help the BARMM achieve its objectives.
He reminded the participants to help in the advocacy on preventing and countering violent extremism.

In his inspirational message, Raja Muda Abdulhamid Ingkong, head of Sugoda Buayan Royal House, said challenges await ahead as tests and he underscored the importance of unity to surpass those.

“Have strong faith to Allah, have discipline and help one another,” he said.

Major Basher Alindo, Chief of City Community Affairs Unit of the General Santos City Police Office, expressed his support to the organization and urged them to include in the plan the initiatives to prevent violent extremism.

Ustadz Noruddin Ortoste, Secretary on Da’wah and Education, imparted the importance of unity on peace and development.
He cited the essence of working as one group anchored on the common will to please the Almighty. 

The speaker reminded his fellow youth to adhere the basic teaching of Islam - doing good and forbidding what is evil.

UNYPAD-Gensan Chapter Chairman, Sahani Ansa, urged his fellow officers and members contribute their time and efforts in support of the development of their chapter.
