‘There is ‘fair chance’ for BBL in Congress”: Senate Pres. Pimentel

Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III on Friday said the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) to be submitted by President Rodrigo Duterte will have a “fair chance” in Congress said a report by GMA News on July 7.

“BBL has a fair chance this time,” Pimentel, President of ruling PDP-Laban Party said in a text message to GMA News.”

In a series of deliberations on the new draft BBL, Bangsamoro Transition Commission members have removed the unconstitutional aspects of the first draft BBL for smooth-sailing in congress.

Pimentel also noted that “there is no more Mamasapano negative effect at this time unlike before.”

The new draft BBL will be submitted by BTC on July 18, a week before the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of Pres. Duterte on July 24, who in turn will submit it to Senate President Pimentel and Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez. (Source: GMA News)
