UBJP Pikit Chapter Conducts Peace Advocacy on BOL

The chapter of United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP) in Pikit town conducted Peace Advocacy on the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL) or Republic Act 11054 on November 29, 2018 near the vicinity of Camp Rajah Muda in Bagoinged, Pikit, North Cotabato. 

The event was realized through the sponsorship of Bagoinged Village Chair Faisal Haron.

The participants were from Barangay Local Government Units (BLGU), youth, women, religious and members of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).

About 500 individuals attended the activity.

Ustadz Norodin Abas, from the Religious Sector spoke on the interconnections of BOL to the aspects of religion that would address the concerns of different beliefs because of its inclusivity. 

For his part, Abdulatip Tiago, Executive Officer of Pikit LGU emphasized the importance of the UBJP Political Party organized by the leadership of MILF in preparation for the establishment of a new region called Bangsamoro.

The MILF- Eastern Mindanao Front of Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (EMF-BIAF) under the command of Amerudin “Jack” Abas expressed his dismay of people who doesn’t believe that BOL will redound to lasting peace in Mindanao

Abas also mentioned the major accomplishments of the Moro struggle. He also reiterated the BIAF General Order to MILF Forces to follow the chain of command because BIAF Commanders and the MILF are not giving false orders.

Commander Abas reminded the participants that BOL is the result of centuries-old struggle of the Bangsamoro people leading to an on-and-off series of peace negotiations, and culminated in the signing of the Comprehensive Agreements on Bangsamoro (CAB).

Mr. Nas Pulindao, Information Officer of the MILF Committee on Information discussed and detailed some provisions of the BOL. 

He focused his discussion on the Political and Fiscal autonomy contained in the BOL, the Bangsamoro Sharia’h Justice System and the Exclusive powers of the Bangsamoro Government. 

According to Pulindao, the most significant among the provisions of the BOL aside from the exclusive powers, block grant, Special Development Fund (SDF) is the Sharia’h Justice System that is applicable only to Muslim residents of the upcoming region.
