Another P22M worth of peace dividends installed in Lamitan City

The Ministry of Basic, Higher, and Technical Education (MBHTE) under the MILF-led Bangsamoro Government successfully turned-over a  P 22,134,000 worth of 2-Storey, 10 Classrooms school building project to the custody of Lamitan City School Division on 11 March 2023 at Parangbasak National High School funded under Special Development Fund (SDF) 2020.
As a symbol of gratitude to the Almighty, Us. Jan Areef Mascud, Moral Values Officer of the Education Facilities Section (EFS) of MBHTE, delivered a short Islamic reminder highlighting the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which says: "When a man dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three: Ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), beneficial knowledge and a righteous son who prays for him." He gave emphasis that everyone who took part in the realization of this project may be considered as one who provides Sadaqah Jariyah, and all the learners in this school, if properly educated, will be one of the righteous children who will pray for their parents.

Atty. Haron S. Meling, MBHTE Deputy Minister personally graced the ceremony. In his inspirational message, he highlighted the commitment of the Ministry toward the sustainability of quality and balanced education in the region, taking into consideration both the temporal and eternal worlds. He also reminded the stakeholders present to work hand in hand in the preservation of the gains of the peace process which paved the way for the realization of developmental projects just like this recently completed 2-storey school buidling.

Myra B. Mangkabung, Ed.D, CESE, Superintendent of Lamitan City Schools Division also delivered her warmest thanks to the BARMM Leadership especially to the Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim, MILF Chairman and MBHTE Minister Mohagher Iqbal, also the Chairman of MILF Peace Implementing Panel, for giving priority to the people of Lamitan City. As she mentioned, this project is the first one to be turned-over in the entire province of Basilan under SDF 2020. She also encouraged all the community members present to maximize the use of this school facility to create more opportunities for the young generation and generations to come.

Also present was Engr. Zubair A. Guiaman, Secretariat Member of the MILF Coordinating Committee on the Cessation of Hostilities (CCCH) and con-current Head of EFS-MBHTE that is primary tasked in the monitoring and supervision of implementation of infrastructure projects of the Ministry. In his message, Engr. Guiaman expressed his gratitude for experiencing this turnover ceremony, which is totally different from his past visits to Basilan which relate to ceasefire related concerns. He also emphasized that this occasion symbolizes progress and the sustainability of developmental projects althrough-out the region will be largely supported through strengthening the spirit of unity between different sectors of society such as the leaders, academe, business sector, and the mass people,

EFS-MBHTE were also represented by Engr. Nurhashim Abdula, Engr. Sadik Guiaman, Engr. Mohammad Asgar Guialil, and Engr. Ryan Bong. This construction project was completed by J-Sand Construction and Supply.
